The service of Tenebrae, meaning “darkness” or “shadows”, is a service of prolonged meditation on the suffering of Christ leading up to the cross. Various readings trace his journey into death on our behalf. The music expresses his sufferings. The power of silence with the darkening sanctuary suggests the emotion of this momentous day. Finally, the return of the small yet persistent flame of the Christ candle at the conclusion brings the anticipation of joy for ultimate victory.

Please join us as we reflect on Christ's sacrifice for sinners.
